Osaka Sao Paulo is a unique blend of architecture and gastronomy. The restaurant, located in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood, proudly showcases its architecture and food, offering a variety of spaces for diners to enjoy. The outdoor terrace, a modern urban courtyard, seamlessly connects the interior, exterior, and nature. Inside, a large hanging “nest” lighting element provides illumination and sets the spatial scale. The use of a lamella roof system with dim lighting and wood latticework completes the harmonious interior design.

The design of Osaka Sao Paulo is a testament to the power of research and understanding local culture. Ariel Chemi, the architect behind the design, has created restaurants for the Osaka firm worldwide. However, the challenge in Sao Paulo was to merge Nikkei food with the Brazilian tropical-fun-musical culture in a natural and aesthetically consistent way. The restaurant's design also reflects a careful consideration of materials and technologies. The demolition of the current facade was the first step in creating an open courtyard to the street. The main stair was materialized with steel and wood inside a "glass box", placed in a corner. Wall coverings with stones/wood and Vescom vinyl coverings; wooden floors (Guayuvira), plants, water, and dim illuminating techniques complete the materialization elements.

The design of Osaka Sao Paulo has not gone unnoticed in the design world. It was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2014.
